A house demolition looks loud from the street. On the site it is mostly a sequence. Photos and access first, approvals and services next, then the machine, then the trucks.
We start with the suburb, the driveway, and a couple of street photos. That tells us whether a machine fits and how the trucks get in and out. Tight terraces and narrow Eastern Suburbs streets need a smaller excavator and a bit more hand work. Wider suburban blocks are usually simpler.
Most house knock-downs in NSW need council approval or a CDC before anyone puts a machine on the building. We do not issue those. We will tell you what has to be in place. If the building is likely to have asbestos, that has to be handled before we start.
On the day, the crew takes the structure down and carts the waste. Neighbours and truck movements get planned before the first machine arrives, not on the morning. If the brief includes the slab and a dig, we do that before we leave so the builder is not waiting on a messy site.
